So a bunch of us finally headed down to the Blue Canoe for dinner. A few had been there before, and a few hadn't, but we always go and critique places together. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, not a detail was spared in the design of the restaurant. The real tester is of course the food, and it did not disappoint. They've thrown together some amazing flavours and clearly taken some chances that have worked out in their favour. The Drummettes....I don't eat chicken wings anywhere, but these ones were in a soy sauce of some sort that was fantastic!! The BBQ Salmon was probably the best salmon that I've ever had at a restaurant....not overcooked like most places. So much flavour. That was it for me, but others had a wide variety of food and rave reviews on all counts. A few questions on the sides that they came with, but generous portions and smiles all around. I’d say 3.5 really at the most, waitress was fantastic. Chefs don’t know their cook times. Steak I asked for medium, it came medium rare. Wife’s rack of Lamb came medium rare when she asked for medium well. Food was tasty but for the price not really worth it. Place could use a renovation. Probably top notch back in the day. Read more

I love middle Eastern food but it's hard to find a restaurant that does it good. And my partner's a vegan and there's so much here to eat. The persian chicken plate is made from free-range chicken and smothered in a great selection of spices - i think they said 18 different ones! This is my favorite place for baklava too.
