Have always enjoyed dropping into the Mow for dinner and drinks with friends, but a recent menu change removed a lot of the more interesting menu options and has reduced this place to having more of a cookie-cutter menu. "Mundane" may be too harsh a description, but it's a direct reflection of how much we liked the variety that could be found on the menu previously.
We'll likely still go back, but more for drinks and snacks rather than for meals.

If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time.
We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short.
The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant.

Best meal I've ever had in Ottawa, all of our food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Our waitress was Ashley and she was amazing. Great atmosphere, lots of tv's as well. And the bathrooms are beautiful! (and spotless) We will definitely be back, highly recommend!

When we want to order chinese food we always order from here as they deliver to the Katimavik Area of Kanata. Our standing order for them is egg rolls, hot and sour soup, won ton soup, salt and pepper shrimp, shechwan shrimp, beef and brocoli, sweet and sour pork, almond chicken su guy, cantoneses chowmein, chicken fried rice. Sometimes we change a few dishes we love their general taos chicken too as well as their sizzling pepper beef ( not usually available for delivery) It costs approx $80 but it feeds our family of 4 - 2 whole meals and maybe a lunch sent to work too - so feeds about 8-10 people. Food here is comparable to china town in some dishes.
