We celebrated our wedding anniversary here on...

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here on Saturday night (our first visit) and would not rush back. It was packed so not everyone shares our opinion. But it is very expensive and not great value. My $22 striploin was one of the cheapest entrees and was very good but my husband's $27 petit filet was tough as shoe leather. The veggies are extra, from $5 upwards a portion. They seem to like to lay a 1/4 of a huge dill pickle across every steak. The worst, though, were the appetizers. Hubby's "escargots in puff pastry" was actually escargots beside a vol-au-vent - nothing in the vol-au-vent. My veggie tempura was enormous - could have been a main course for 2 people - but the tempura batter was actually greasy fish & chip batter such that you couldn't tell by shape or taste what the particular vegetable was. Most disappointing. We shared a very nice chocolate pecan cake which I think came with whipped cream in a can rather than the fresh stuff. My glass of Yellow Tail Shiraz was a whopping $9 but was a generous sized portion. As for ambience, I prefer when there are tablecloths when fine-dining. The noise level was very high, not only because the place was packed but because of the acoustics. We were sat at a table where when someone entered or left the restaurant, there was an assault of cold air on my right side. I ate my whole meal with my leather jacket on and my scarf and napkin draped over my right thigh. There was a table of 4 between us and the door and I can only imagine their discomfort. There was a fireplace right beside them but they had it turned off after a while because they were only about 18" from it. So boil or freeze ... or both. If we want to pay these prices, we'll go back to Toronto and get better value, better food and better ambience. Not the best experience, with the only exception being very professional service by Steve.

I was taken to Earl and Angelos for a company Christmas party. Ive been to a few upscale restaurants but this has got to be my favorite. The Food was absolutly cooked perfect, and it was high quality. The feel of the resturant was great. It made for a real nice night out. It is a smaller place so getting in can be tough, But the few people that reviewed this place negitive must have other motives. It is well worth every cent to go to this place.

Everything from atmosphere, food and the...

Everything from atmosphere, food and the professional manner of the staff is unparalleled in Belleville. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting belleville. There's no place in the city that can match the "upscale" nature of this restaurant. salut!

Nice location in downtown Belleville - waterfront path behind restaurant is great for after dinner walks. We prefer the ambiance of the downstairs dining area - lighting is low, wood is dark, music stays in the background. Small lounge upstairs was ideal for martinis as we arrived early. Our server, Tammy, never disappoints - she is a rare gem with a winning smile and a true understanding of the art of fine dining service. We have found the meals and service to be consistant and have yet to be disappointed.

Turn down the rock music! Most of the clientele were older so the loud screaming rock is out of place. Too much dressing on the salad, it drowned the spinach. The cake was not made on site, tasted like it came from a box. However we liked our meal but will be more definitive about our needs next time.
