While driving around the scenic Caledon Hills with two friends, we stopped for lunch at Tom's Family Restaurant. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing, and the food was perfect for our needs - we didn't want an upscale, fancy restaurant, just a casual, friendly place with good food. I had some of the best fish & chips I've ever had. I couldn't resist trying the homemade strawberry-rhubarb pie, and it didn't disappoint - it was heavenly! We arrived at the restaurant about 5:50 pm and it was packed. So upon arrival, we had to sign in and wait about 10 minutes. Then when we did get our table, we ordered our food and drinks, but due to the number of customers, our server was very distracted. So we ended up waiting 10 minutes for our food, but it was worth it when it arrived. The food was excellent, but our service was a little frustrating. The prices were also reasonable. It was about $33 for two of us to eat. Nonetheless, we will continue to go here. Read more
